Holidays = Pie Season

Hi everyone! It’s Hannah, the self proclaimed Piestro (aka maestro of pies)

So we have all officially gotten through Thanksgiving. Still feeling stuffed from all the great food and pleasantly surprised by the influx of orders, I finally found some time to brush off the flour and talk about my little pies.

This is my favorite time of year and I finally get to throw on a sweater and focus on my mini holiday pies… and parties, of course.

Just before we completely leave it behind for the year, theres one little fact I wanted to share about Thanksgiving… Did you know… That a favorite dish of George Washington’s was pumpkin pie. But, it wasn’t exactly the pumpkin pie we all know. George’s version was actually a custard baked in a whole pumpkin, yet for some reason they still referred to it as pie.

As a history buff and fellow lover of useless trivia, my mom has made George’s pumpkin pie since 1991 and never fails to say… “did you know… This was George Washington’s favorite!”

FYI: if your interested in George’s fav leave me a comment and I’ll be happy to pass it along.

And with that we now move on to the winter holidays. I am seriously exited about getting closer to introducing some new holiday creations of mine. So for now I am just going to leave you with a hint:

You know that saying, “not all that glitters is gold” ? Well, maybe it is.
